Con esta convicción, apoyándonos en ellos y en otros autores, este libro defiende el uso del tedio como artificio literario y esboza una estetica del aburrimiento a partir de las divagaciones de Leopold Bloom, de la banalidad de la señora Daílloway o de la incertidumbre de "Molloy", así como de la espera en "El desierto de los tártaros", mientras avanzamos viscosamente en "La cienaga definitiva"áo nos enredamos en el discurso de los personajes de Thomas Bernhard, entre otros. Todo para corroborar, como ya aseguraba Baríthes, que el placer del texto no tiene por que ser siempre triunfante o heroico, sino que, en este caso, hay mucho que descubrir más allá del posible bostezo.
